Megan Layne

City of Vidor

Megan Layne is the Executive Director of the Orange County Economic Development Corporation. In this role, Megan is responsible for overseeing initiatives to stimulate local economic growth, including attracting new industry and small businesses, fostering job creation, and enhancing community development. A lifelong resident of Orange County, Megan is a graduate of Little Cypress Mauriceville High School and has a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in Urban and Regional Planning. Prior to entering her current role, Megan worked as the Business Development Manager for the Orange County EDC joining the team in 2020. Megan has experience working in commercial real estate, property management and leasing as well as state and local community development and public works initiatives with the Southwest Louisiana Planning Commission. Megan also serves on several local boards and committees including the Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce Board and Executive Board, United Way of Orange County Board, The City of Orange Convention and Visitor’s Bureau Advisory Board, Golden Triangle FAME Board, LCMCISD and Orangefield ISD CTE Advisory Boards, is a member of Next Generation Orange County, the Orange Rotary Club and Leadership Southeast Texas Alumni (2022). She is also a member of the Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC), International Economic Development Council (IEDC), and the International Asset Management Council (IAMC). In her free time, Megan enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and raising her son, Bennett, with husband, Jude.
